The Dragonwilds 1.0.1 update, Eye on Ashenfall, went live on October 14, 2026. Most of Jagex’s notes are about save fixes, but it also added a jump attack, new Ranged perks, bow special attacks, separate ring and amulet slots, more inventory space and two new compost upgrades. We pulled the current build (1.0.1.3) from the game files, so the levels and numbers below come from the game itself. Where the files and Jagex’s notes disagree, I say so.
The full list of what changed in the data is on the 1.0.1.3 patch notes page.
New perks in the Dragonwilds 1.0.1 update
| Perk | Skill | Level | What the game says |
|---|
| Death From Above! | Attack | 25 | Unlock the ability to perform an attack action while jumping. |
| Ranged Special Actions | Ranged | 10 | Unlocks unique Special Actions for Ranged weapons! |
| Ammo Recovery | Ranged | 20 | Rewards a chance to recover arrows from the bodies of slain enemies. |
| Leg Shot | Ranged | 28 | Target enemy legs with a charged shot and temporarily reduce their movement speed. Doesn’t affect the smallest and largest of enemies. |
| Greater Ammo Recovery | Ranged | 50 | Increases the chance to recover arrows from the bodies of slain enemies. |
| Large Compost Bucket | Farming | 65 | Unlocks the Compost Bucket, which has a larger capacity. |
| Ultra Compost Bin | Farming | 69 | Unlocks the Ultra Compost Bin, which produces Ultra Compost. |
The game files don’t give a recovery chance for either Ammo Recovery perk, so I can’t tell you how much Greater adds.
Death From Above: the jump attack
Death From Above! sits on the Attack tree at level 25. Per Jagex, once you’re slightly above the top of your double jump’s arc, pressing attack plunges you down onto whatever is underneath. Damage scales with the weapon you’re holding, so Jagex’s advice is to hold something hefty before you leap. Windstep counts too.
Bow special attacks and Leg Shot
The Ranged Special Actions perk at Ranged 10 gives each ranged weapon type its own special. The names and behaviour come from Jagex’s notes:
| Weapon | Special | What it does |
|---|
| Shortbow, e.g. Yew Shortbow | Rapid Fire | Hop backwards and fire three arrows quickly. You can switch targets between shots. |
| Longbow, e.g. Yew Longbow | Power Shot | Kneel, draw to full strength and fire one very strong, staggering shot at long range. |
| Crossbow, e.g. Rune Crossbow | Heavy Bolt | Fire a bolt after a short charge. Applies Enchanted effects on hit. |
Jagex’s notes call the leg perk “Low Blow” and the slow “Hamstrung”. In the game files the perk is named Leg Shot, at Ranged 28. Both say the same thing: hit an enemy in the legs (the notes say the lower third of the body) and it moves slower for a short time. Tiny and colossal enemies are immune.
Jagex also says Rune Arrow and rune bolts now hit harder than Adamant Arrow and adamant bolts, 4.9x against 4.2x. Our extract doesn’t include ammo damage multipliers, so that figure is from the notes only.
Ring and amulet slots
Amulets have their own equipment slot now, so you can wear a ring and an amulet at the same time. In the files, 12 items use the new necklace slot:
- Amulet of Glory, Amulet of Accuracy, Amulet of Defence, Amulet of Magic and Amulet of Strength
- Inspiring Amulet of Attack, Inspiring Amulet of Magic and Inspiring Amulet of Ranged
- Salve Amulet, Gyrhawk Amulet, Gilded Gyrhawk Amulet and Skills Necklace
Rings stay in the trinket slot they used before.
Amulet of Glory nerf
Jagex said the Amulet of Glory “was providing additional bonuses above what was initially intended”. Here are its passive values in the files before and after:
| Stat | 1.0.0.8 | 1.0.1.3 |
|---|
| Magic damage multiplier | 1.25 | 0.125 |
| Melee damage multiplier | 1.25 | 0.125 |
| Ranged critical damage multiplier | 1.25 | 0.15 |
| Base defence | 5 | 10 |
The files don’t say how the game applies these values, so I won’t promise exact percentages. The melee and magic values are a tenth of what they were, and the defence doubled. The in-game text didn’t change: “Increased MELEE, MAGIC and RANGED CRIT DAMAGE / Increased DEFENSE”.
Inventory: 40 slots
The notes say inventory went from 32 to 40. In the files, the main backpack page went from 24 to 32 slots, and the 8 quick-action slots bring it to 40. The rune, ammo and quest item pages went from 24 to 32 each. The player gravestone container went from 32 to 64 slots to match.
Jagex also reworked sorting into three modes: Weight (heaviest stack first), Type (by category, A to Z) and Latest (most recently picked up first).
Compost bins and the Large Compost Bucket
1.0.1 adds two farming unlocks near the top of the Farming tree. Here they are next to the older bins:
Each bin gives 12 Construction XP. The regular Compost Bucket costs 5 Ash Logs at the same table. The game describes the large one as having “room for extra Compost”, but the files don’t list a capacity number. 1.0.1 also gave compost values to a long list of foods and drinks, so more of your leftovers can go in the bins. The farming page has the rest.
Enemy aggro and respawns
These come from Jagex’s notes. Our extract has no numbers for them:
- Enemies across the game have a shorter aggro range, so you shouldn’t drag a long train of mobs behind you.
- Enemy respawn timers are longer, so cleared areas stay clear for more time.
- Obstacles and enemies now respawn in the Scorned Wilderness raid when it resets for the next run.
Other changes in the game files
These weren’t all in Jagex’s headline list, but they show up when you compare 1.0.0.8 with 1.0.1.3:
