Every armour set in Dragonwilds has a helm, a body and legs, a power level and a weight class. Within a power level, sets of the same weight class have the same total Defence and resistances. What changes between them is the recipe and, for Vestige sets, how you unlock it. Every piece is made at the Armour Bench unless noted.
Light, medium and heavy armour
Totals for a full three-piece set:
| Weight class | Melee resistance | Ranged resistance | Magic resistance | Set weight |
|---|
| Heavy | +10% | -5% | -10% | 36 |
| Medium | -5% | +5% | -5% | 27 |
| Light | -10% | -5% | +10% | 18 |
Defence depends only on power level:
| Power level | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
|---|
| Set Defence | 30 | 50 | 70 | 90 | 110 | 130 | 150 | 170 |
Set bonuses
Each weight class has three bonus tiers. Wearing more armour of one class unlocks higher tiers. The game files don’t say how many pieces each tier needs.
| Tier | Light | Medium | Heavy |
|---|
| 1 | Stamina regen delay -50% | Stealth speed +40% | Block stamina cost -33% |
| 2 | Magic attack speed +10% | Ranged attack stamina cost -33% | Crit chance +50% for 5 s after blocking |
| 3 | Magic crit chance +15% | Weak point damage +25% | Damage to staggered targets +25% |
The bonuses line up with the resistances: light for magic, medium for ranged, heavy for melee and blocking.
Every set by power level
Vestige sets are marked. Their recipes come from Vestige plans or drops rather than unlocking on pickup.
| Power level | Heavy | Medium | Light |
|---|
| 2 | Reinforced | Leather | Apprentice |
| 3 | Bronze | Hard Leather | Wizard |
| 4 | Iron, Paladin’s (Vestige), Gilded Paladin (Vestige, Deluxe Edition) | Studded Leather, Wild Archer (Vestige) | Dark Mage, Dragonkin Mage (Vestige) |
| 5 | Steel, White (Vestige), Fallen Hoplite’s (Vestige) | Green Dragonhide, Ranger (Vestige) | Splitbark, Necromancer’s (Vestige) |
| 6 | Mithril, Black Knight (Vestige) | Blue Dragonhide, Shadow (Vestige) | Mystic, Zamorak (Vestige) |
| 7 | Adamant, Obsidian (Vestige) | Red Dragonhide, Kalphite Carapace (Vestige) | Infinity Robe, Lunar Garou (Vestige) |
| 8 | Rune | Black Dragonhide | Ancestral |
| 9 | Dragon (Vestige) | | |
Gilded Paladin is the Gilded Paladin Chestpiece set from the Deluxe Edition. The power level 7 Desert set (Desert Robes) has no weight class, only 22 Defence and no resistances; it reduces scorch build-up.
Where to buy Vestige plans
Several Vestige sets are unlocked by buying plans from traders:
| Trader | Currency | Sets | Cost per set |
|---|
| Fellhollow | Soul Fragment | White, Ranger, Necromancer’s | 900 (200 head, 400 body, 300 legs) |
| Dowdun Reach | Infernal Fragment | Black Knight, Shadow, Zamorak | 900 (200, 400, 300) |
| Beartach | Garou Chit | Obsidian | 15,000 (2,500, 7,500, 5,000) |
| Domri | Garou Chit | Lunar Garou | 15,000 |
| Iasadair | Garou Chit | Kalphite Carapace | 15,000 |
The three Umbral Sands traders also sell one Desert plan each (the Sun-Bleached Vest, Head Wrap and Leggings), 15,000 Garou Chit for the set.
Our data doesn’t record where the Paladin’s, Dragonkin Mage, Wild Archer and Fallen Hoplite’s plans come from, so check each item page’s “Where to find”.
Top sets: Rune, Black Dragonhide, Ancestral and Dragon
The power level 8 sets are the best you can craft. They all use 1.0 materials. The Rune pieces unlock when you pick up a Rune Bar and Draconic Vis Wax.
Dragon armour (Dragon Full Helm, Dragon Platebody, Dragon Platelegs) is power level 9. Its recipes list no materials, and since patch 1.0.1.3 no crafting station either, so the drops are the way to get it. Kuldra drops each piece 1% of the time. The Queenslayer's Reward Pack from Regicide gives one item picked by weight: about 17% each for the Full Helm, Platebody and Platelegs, and 7% for the Dragon Med Helm.
The armour table at /items/c/armour/ lists every piece with its stats, and each set’s summed totals.
